Fractures & Trauma

Fractures (break in a bone) can occur in any bone in the body. When it occurs in the bones of the arm or legs it can result in significant problems for a patient and prevent them from performing their normal daily activities.

Fractures can occur from a number of different causes ranging from a simple trip and fall right through to high energy injuries sustained in motor vehicle accidents. People with osteoporosis are at higher risk of sustaining fractures with minor accidents or falls.

A large percentage of fractures will require surgery to help realign the bones and enable a patient to regain function of the affected body part. The specialists at Adelaide Hip and Knee Centre have extensive experience in managing all types of fractures ranging from those requiring simple non-operative management through to those requiring complex reconstructive procedures. Using the latest treatment techniques we aim to get you back quickly to living the life you want.
